Literary Awards Postcards

These postcards were designed to promote the Australian Prime Minister’s Literary Awards. Each card introduces one of the six categories: fiction, poetry, non-fiction, Australian history, young adult fiction and children’s fiction. Each design features a word, typeface, bright colour and a printed effect/texture that relate to the category. In the young adult fiction card a youthful, quirky typeface with a neon spot colour for vibrancy was used to inspire. The word believe was custom made and we added a touch of sparkle to the children’s fiction postcard with glitter. The poetry card features a handwritten font and is embossed to create a tactile shape and texture to the desired area. We used a serif font for the australian history card and added foiling in over the font to have a metallic effect. The non-fiction card has a smooth, glossy layer applied to the word immerse (spot UV effect) and uses a very journalistic typeface. The fiction card features a shiny foil effect and a simple yet modern typeface.
